The Blue Water House

Called on a whim and spoke to a very nice gentleman. Booked a room. The place is Very Funky. Enjoyed our room and looking at all the interesting eclectic artwork. Our room was very comfortable. Was enjoying our stay. I was walking down to get coffee at 7 when a “ gentleman “ asked if i wanted breakfast. I said no thank you im just going for coffee. While in the breakfast room another man came in and the “ gentleman “ who i now know is Tony asked him if he wanted breakfast. Because i was standing there i automatically said no thanks again. He looked at me and said “ i wasn’t talking to you i already asked you I don’t have that bad a memory “. I was taken aback by this. The other man said no . I then asked Tony “ where should i put my spoon i used to stir my coffee. His response was “ I don’t care where you put it. Put it in the sink or whatever “. I wasn’t aware i was allowed to go back to the kitchen area. I was just very put off by this first thing in the morning. I was surprised that he would treat his guests this way. I went back up to my room and when we were ready my husband and I came down for breakfast. We were eating when another couple came in. He asked if they wanted eggs potatoes and sausage. Then the three of them got into a discussion on why the young man didn’t want pork sausage, how they slaughter cows, chicken & Deer. I don’t have to get into it but I didn’t find it pleasant especially after the encounter with him earlier. Finally i spoke up and asked if we could please not have this discussion at breakfast.. I apologized to the other couple and we checked out. I would have probably gone back there but now I don’t think i will. And the coffee was horrible so it didn’t help the early morning situation

This B&B is the perfect getaway on a quiet street in Lewes, Delaware.
It’s funky, clean, and the owner is very friendly and welcoming. If you like art, this place is full of interesting impressions to look at. The rooms are colorful and comfortable with balconies. We had a great stay there.

Had a quick visit away with hubby and our dog 10/9 -10/11. B&B is super funky and cool with lots of unique character. Rooms were comfy, clean, and well stocked. Two friendly dogs that roam on property that were cute. Place is pet friendly which is hard to find. Good location from the beach and downtown. The owner Rick was super helpful and Tony the cook made us a delicious breakfast. Had to cut our visit short due to a family issue unfortunately but will definitely be back in the spring/summer!
