JACK LINGO REALTOR- Rehoboth Rentals

I am writing regarding our recent stay at 47 Holly Road, Rehoboth Beach, DE from July 4 through July 11, 2026. Jack Lingo Realty was the rental agency we worked with for the weekly rental costing approx.$16,000. Upon entering the house, we were shocked at the bad condition of the ground floor, kitchen and florida room. The oven was filthy as was the outside grill. The pool was dirty, silt was present along the lining and there were cracks on the bottom. Unbeknownst to us the pool pump was nonfunctional. The florida room was a mess, debris on the floor, what looked like mold on the door frame and edges of the ceiling and algae on the screens. We immediately called our agent Gina from Jack Lingo. They did call their handyman and an assistant immediately to come out and clean what was clearly not cleaned in a very long time. They also did get the pool company to fix and clean the pool two days later. It was our impression that they knew the pool was not working before we got there. The master bath was a jacuzzi bath with a makeshift shower curtain. It was very difficult to get in and out of, especially for older people. No hand rail or bath mat at all and the light over the sink was not working.

The bigger problem was that no one from the agency spotted these issues before our vacation started.
We paid the top price for a weekly summer rental in Rehoboth Beach. I did check the prices so I know that we paid for a high end property. This was clearly not of the caliber of what we expected for what we paid. There was actually a hand print on the wall!

Outside wasn't much better. The balcony chairs were rusted and falling apart, just scattered around with no order to them. The deck near the pool is uneven and slanted in multiple spots, with boards coming up, and the fence by the water is crooked and leaning toward the house. Someone could easily get hurt on either one.

Gina, our realtor, told us that we’d have beach access, chairs and umbrellas included because the owner is part of the community, which was not true, he was not a paying resident and we ended up paying for beach chairs ourselves. During our calls to the agency, we spoke with Gina who said she had not seen the house. That disclosure makes this even worse. She didn’t bother to do a walk through before selling this property. That’s shocking to me.

While we loved Rehobeth Beach, it would have been an even better exhad we been treated with more care and professionalism when selling to us property that is not the standard for the price we paid.
