Freddies Beach Bar - Rehoboth Beach
We went to Freddie’s for entertainment and dinner Friday night. We were very impressed. The early evening crooner, Ryan Williamson, sang a variety of songs and has a wonderful voice. We heard there was a new chef so we ordered dinner. Our entrees, Tempura Shrimp, Cauliflower Pizza & Chicken Parmigiana were flavorful. We’d definitely order food there again. After dinner’s drag show had a variety of talented performers and the MC kept us laughing between numbers. If you haven’t been to Freddie’s this year I’d make it a highly priority to try it.

Wonderful spot. Incredible drag show, fun karaoke, and spectacular drinks. Key Lime Crush is genuinely one of the best drinks I’ve ever had. Most of all, above and beyond service. Bryan (apologies if his name is misspelled) was a delight for the whole evening. Helpful, personable, and fantastic at his job. Cannot recommend enough.

Freddies Beach Bar - Rehoboth Beach
In short the food, service and drinks are great but...
Why does this place feel like a queer minstrelsy straight bar with drag. The straight/queer ratio seemed very skewed towards outwardly presenting heteronormative couples. Maybe this place was just a bit too overwhelmed with multiple "straight" bachelorette parties. I'm not going to gatekeep who is queer enough for a gay bar but the end result is that myself and my partner two transgender pansexual and polyamorous women felt a little too queer for a "gay" bar.
The drag performance was decent but absolutely hindered by people that would clog the tunnel to the back half of the bar. The backroom is not the place to be for a drag performance. The queens are good and try to make their way back there, but it's hit or miss on success and duration.
If this place advertised as a straight bar it would rate better but after multiple visits to each one, Arlington is the superior Freddie's location.
