The story of Dogfish Head began in June of 1995 when we opened Dogfish Head Brewings & Eats, the first state's first brewpub opened in the resort beach community of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. The plan was to bring original beer, original food, and original music to the area.

Not only was Dogfish Head Delaware’s first brewpub, it was the smallest commercial brewery in America. Our very first batch, Shelter Pale Ale, was brewed on a system which essentially was three little kegs with propane burners underneath. Brewing 12–gallon batches of beer for a whole restaurant proved to be more than a full time job. When the doors to the pub first opened, we brewed three times a day, five days a week! The one benefit to brewing on such a small system was the ability to try out a myriad of different recipes. We quickly got bored brewing the same things over and over – that’s when we started adding all sorts of weird ingredients and getting kind of crazy with the beers!

Dogfish Head Brewery in Milton, Delaware, is an outstanding destination for great food, relaxing outdoor dining, and a welcoming atmosphere. The outdoor seating area is incredibly spacious, with plenty of room for families, friends, sports teams, and large gatherings. It's the perfect place to enjoy a meal while taking in the beautiful surroundings. The food is fresh, flavorful, and offers something for everyone, making it enjoyable even if you're not there for the beer. Although I don't drink beer, I was impressed by the wide variety of craft beers available for every taste and preference. The brewery has created an environment where everyone can feel comfortable, whether you're a beer enthusiast or simply looking for a great place to eat. The customer service was fast, efficient, and friendly from the moment we arrived until we left. The staff handled everything professionally while maintaining a warm and welcoming attitude. The overall atmosphere is lively yet family-friendly, making it an excellent destination for kids, adults, and groups alike. I highly recommend Dogfish Head Brewery to anyone visiting the area and will definitely return for another enjoyable experience.

We had an amazing experience at Dogfish Head Brewery in Milton! We took the 60-Minute Brewery Tour and had a fantastic time learning about the history of Dogfish Head and the entire beer-making process from start to finish. The tour was informative, engaging, and gave us a new appreciation for the craft behind the beer.
One of the highlights was getting to sample some of their beers along the way, one of which is still unreleased (it was so good) and we even left with a souvenir tasting glass to take home. Another unexpected bonus was being able to climb up and explore the iconic treehouse out front, which added a fun and unique touch to the visit.

Whether you're a longtime craft beer fan or just looking for something fun to do while in Delaware, I highly recommend visiting Dogfish Head. The staff was friendly, the tour was well organized, and the whole experience was memorable from start to finish.

What you first notice is the beautiful property, tall wooden walls encase the exterior and towering tanks stand above plenty of outdoor seating in shaded tables and Adirondack chairs. The statement piece in the front of the pub is the metal tree house thats artistic and invites a fun atmosphere. Food window outside serves pub fare and pizza. The inside has plenty more seating, the taps where all the dogfish head beer pours. Everything from staples to experimental brews, cocktails, and Seltzers. The gift shop has reasonably priced merch and cases of beer, all without sales tax!

Missed the chance for a tour, but will definitely be back for one. Cheers y'all!
