Delmarva's Maritime past of shipwrecks and piracy is vividly brought back to life here at DiscoverSea Museum. The museum features an ever- changing "edutainment" exhibit. It houses one of the most comprehensive collections of shipwreck artifacts on the Delmarva Peninsula. There are thousands of items on display ranging from gold and Silver bars, coins, weapons, china and items used aboard early day sailing ships. The seashells, marine life tanks and our working lab will help to educate guests of all ages about the aspects of treasures from our ocean's depths.

DiscoverSea Shipwreck Museum is an ever-changing exhibit that expands and diversifies with the acquisitions of new artifacts as they are recovered. Our collection of shipwreck and recovered artifacts is one of the largest in the Mid-Atlantic and contains shipwreck artifacts both regional and worldwide.

Through your DiscoverSea Shipwreck Museum visit, you will travel through a hands-on experience, which will enable you to shake hands with history.

Admission is free.

Unique and interesting finds from local shipwrecks. Owner was the diver that found most of the items and has interesting stories.

The museum is free to view.

This was a great stop during our travels! First, the shop on the first floor is huge and has a lot of variety of souvenir type things, toys, glassware, personalized things, plants, and so much more, there's also a whole room of just shells, all kinds of different sizes, shapes of seashells. Prices were reasonable, better than I expected considering the type of shop/location/etc.

Then the upstairs had the museum! (Free, but donations welcome.) There was a lot of really interesting things that have been found locally from shipwrecks, things that washed up, got dug up, from many many years ago up to relatively recently found. There are a lot of descriptions to read about the things found if you want to hear the story of what it was or how it was found.

Overall, we considered skipping this location on our travels due to timing, but decided to stop anyway, and we're all so glad we did! We would have missed out on some great purchases and seeing some really interesting things!

The owner / explorer is a fascinating person with a wealth of knowledge to share and he knows how to captivate an audience with a story. Hopefully you'll visit when he's there. Its not a large place, but there is some fascinating history here.
