Big Oyster Brewery Milford

We had been hearing great things about this new location and decided to stop in on the way to the beach. Honestly, as Delawareans, we had never been to the OG location in Lewes, so we weren't sure what to expect overall.
Most importantly, don't be fooled that this is at a "golf course" as it is obvious upon entering the building that the space has been updated, renovated and well planned for a pleasant dining experience. This is designed as a very open, Boho beach chic vibe restaurant with lots of natural light and clean eclectic decor. The staff are all friendly and there is ample indoor and outdoor seating.
As far as the menu goes, choices vary for the diverse consumers that might visit and ultimately, we decided to try a couple small items alongside our Big Oyster brews.
My husband loves soup, and immediately decided to order the Cream of Crab soup to start and although the Tomato Basil soup with mini grilled cheese crostini sounded amazing...it was still warm enough outside that I chose the Buratta Caprese salad to start.
My salad was delicious. A pile of arugula set on pesto, topped with a large Buratta surrounded by tomatoes and pickled onions, all drizzled with Balsamic. My husband's soup was absolutely savory and flavorful, which is so refreshing when we have tried many bland or poorly crafted crab soups in Delaware :/ Both items were a great portion size for the price too.
We ultimately decided to get the Calamari app as well, which, in all honesty, is basic. The calamari is over breaded and flavorless but the Thai Chili sauce helped. Honestly, this is fairly typical for fried calamari in any restaurant anymore unless they lightly batter/fry without the deep fryer.
We both had beer from Big Oyster and enjoyed the few we tried. What was really nice was our bartender/server quickly got samples of 2 sours for me to try without asking...simply because I asked her opinion on their taste.
The restrooms are clean, spacious, and well stocked. There is also a store within the location to buy canned brews from Big Oyster for any traveler that can't get their beer at home.
4 stars come from the fact we didn't try enough food to really know all aspects of the quality, but overall, this is absolutely a place to try for many reasons. We will be going for dinner soon!!

Stopped in to check out the new location. We didn't purchase food but we have done so at the other location and it's been good. We ordered beer and sat out on the back deck. It's a beautiful spot overlooking the golf course. The staff was friendly and efficient. We enjoyed our time and will return.

Great food and beer. Not sure what you want, no problem, grab a flight. They offer 4 beers to sample in their flights. I got the whole pig and my husband got the Buffalo chicken sliders and Chincoteague oysters. G was awesome. Recommended some good dishes and was good entertainment
