Avenue Inn & Spa

This was the second time I visited the spa for a facial. Both visits were great! Today's visit was for a facial plus a peppermint massage for my hands and feet. The specialist modified the products used to accommodate my citrus sensitivity and had a good understanding of what she was using. She had a great touch! The blueberry infused water and chocolate square when I left was the icing on the cake. I left feeling refreshed and relaxed. After my visit, I was shown the products used and available for purchase but felt no pressure to buy.

My husband and I absolutely enjoyed our short stay at the Avenue inn and spa. Everything was wonderful from the moment we walked in. The staff was very pleasant and welcoming. The cheese and wine hour as well as the cookies every night is a nice little touch. We will definitely be coming back!

Do not stay here if you have asthma or are sensitive to air fragrances. This hotel pumps in fragrances year round - currently a pine scent. While some may appreciate the added scent, others might not. The scent is uncontrollable by the front desk and is motion activated meaning as you walk through the hallways the scent is blasted out of vents. To me it is overwhelming and I had to cover my face as I walked around. The hotel should advertise this practice as we would not have booked a room here. I experienced headaches and congestion, my daughter is experiencing an asthma flare. The hotel itself is lovely and the location is great. I am surprised knowing air fragrances can irritate the lungs that any hotel would not alert guests to this practice and give them the chance to make an educated choice for themselves. Alternatively, offering a floor without added fragrances would be another option. Would not stay here again only for the sensory overload.
