Anchorage Motel

Everyone there is great except the front desk lady that called me and my girlfriend “bumbleheads” for leaving 20 minutes late after an asthma attack. Great customer service from her… the cleaning staff had no issue with us leaving a little later. They had multiple rooms they could’ve rented out rather than ours at that exact moment. In fact if I was another couple minutes she would’ve given me a charge. The rest of the staff are super friendly and nice. But someone needs to have a talk with her about customer service….

I stayed at the Anchorage the night before the Ocean to Bay Annual Bike Tour held in Bethany Beach during the beginning of May 2025. Not too crowded this time of year with plenty of parking. The room was very basic and nothing to write home about. Roughly $130 total per night. The receptionist & management at the front desk were very nice and accommodating. My room was equipped with & I noticed the following:
Two beds with cheap uncomfortable mattresses, a TV that had a mind of its own ….I couldn’t change channels & at times it was completely unresponsive (Maybe the remote needed batteries, but who is going to issue replacements at 11pm?), a bedroom & bathroom with a shower/tub, which was clean and there is a small refrigerator, pretty reliable and better than average WiFi access. I don’t remember seeing a microwave, but can’t say for sure one wasn’t there. The AC wall unit worked well. The only real disappointment I noticed was the adjoining room walls aren’t well soundproofed and I could hear the TV blaring on one side of me and kids playing & loud TV in the other. Glad I brought ear plugs with me just in case this were to happen…. and glad I did. Thanks for reading. I hope this helps with your search and decision making process.

I was very surprised at how wonderful this motel is. Nothing fancy but everything you need. I'm extremely picky, and the room was very clean. The staff was very friendly and had pleasant conversations with them. It's just very welcoming. Close to a lot of stores and restaurants. For the price you can not beat it.
